🍲✏️ POTLUCK & POSTCARDS ✏️🍲 Thursday, October 15 · 6:00–8:30 PM · Jefferson County Democratic HQ, 2211 Calder Ave, Beaumont

Calling all mama bears, teachers, retired teachers, aunties, grandmas, dads, coaches, and anyone who has ever packed a lunch, graded a paper, or stayed up late helping with a science project: this one's for you.

Our kids' classrooms are on the ballot. Right now, the State Board of Education is being pushed by Christian Nationalists and fear mongers who want to ban books, rewrite history, and turn public schools into political battlegrounds. We say: not in our classrooms, not on our watch.

That's why we're backing Tiffany Perkinz for State Board of Education, a champion for public schools, real history, and teachers who are trusted to teach.

Here's the plan: 🥘 Bring your favorite dish. Your famous gumbo, your boudin balls, your \"I stopped at the store\" cookies. All welcome! ✍️ Write postcards to voters across the district reminding them to vote for Tiffany. 🎶 Have fun. Good music, good food, and a room full of people who refuse to sit this one out.

No experience needed! We'll have postcards, addresses, stamps, sample messages, and pens. Just bring your appetite and your handwriting (even if it looks like a doctor's).

Teachers taught us to show our work. Moms taught us to never give up. United, we outnumber the fear. Let's prove it, one postcard at a time. 💪💙

Bring a friend. Bring a dish. Bring the fire. 🔥

People of every faith and background welcome. Our public schools belong to all of us.

Every Postcard Is a Conversation. Every Conversation Can Win a Vote.

Early voting is almost here, and the races on our ballot will be decided by who shows up. A handwritten postcard from a neighbor is one of the most effective ways to remind a voter that their voice matters, and it only takes a few minutes to write one.

Southeast Texas Democratic Women invites you to an evening of postcard writing at the Jefferson County Democratic Party Headquarters. Come for an hour or stay the whole evening. Every card you write is a voter reached.

What to Expect

🍷 Wine, nibbles, and lots of camaraderie

Postcards, voter addresses, and sample messages ready to go

Great energy with fellow Democrats who are fired up to win

No experience needed, just your heart and your handwriting

Bring

Your favorite pen

A friend, a neighbor, or your whole crew

Why It Matters

Texas elections are won and lost by small margins. Personal outreach raises turnout, and turnout is how we win in Jefferson County and across Southeast Texas.

Making It Happen starts with you. Pour a glass, grab a pen, and let's write our way to victory!

UPDATE on the showing of the Long Game documentary on Texas education and TEA takeovers.

We have the Jefferson Theater in Beaumont reserved for Monday, October 12. Doors will open at 6:00 and the film will begin showing at 7:00-8:30.

The documentary deep dives into all of the issues surrounding Texas education and the long game plan set in motion by bad actors and greedy politicians, from culture war distractions at the SBOE to TEA Takeovers under Mike Morath and Mike Miles and their “New Education System” model based on military occupation strategies.

More details coming soon on how to reserve a seat, but save the date in the meantime! Also, the film’s website is up!
